24-Hour Office Boosts Economy: Engaging Citizens in Export Growth Program

Accra, June 9, GNA – The 24 Hour Office is disseminating the 24H+ Program document with the aim of engaging more closely and effectively with citizens, investors, development partners, and supporters of Ghana who are dedicated to promoting an inclusive and sustainable economic transition.

Ghana’s key strategy for transforming its economy is through the 24 Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Program (24H+). This initiative seeks to foster an independent, industrially-focused, and export-oriented economy characterized by interconnected supply chains, effective market systems, skilled labor forces, and robust international commerce. The ultimate goals include fostering broad-based prosperity, generating quality employment opportunities, decreasing reliance on imports, and enhancing overall national strength and adaptability.

A statement released from Accra by the 24 Hour Office indicated that, according to President John Dramani Mahama, the 24H+ served as both a destination and an initiative.

As a destination, it portrayed a Ghana characterized by such high productivity that economic activities could operate continuously without interruption.

The statement said as a programme, it offered a clear and actionable framework to restructure our economy from the ground up through agro-processing, digital innovation, infrastructure, logistics, skills development, and export competitiveness.

"The 24H+ program is essentially a citizen and partner engagement initiative founded on the belief that the transformation we aim for can be most effectively realized through comprehensive national mobilization of our people, involving distinct responsibilities for both government and business sectors," the statement further explained.

The invitation encouraged stakeholders to review the document, contemplate the vision, and convey their perspectives to the Office," suggesting that the 24H+ initiative is for all Ghanaians.
