Eid Travel Threatened by Rainy Forecast

Dhaka, June 5 -- Numerous vacationers have started their trip back home; however, the continuous rain throughout the nation might lead to interruptions on the roads and expressways.

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has released a 120-hour weather forecast alert predicting rain throughout the nation beginning early Thursday (June 5).

Based on the prediction, sections of Rajshahi, Rangpur, Khulna, and Sylhet divisions might encounter brief strong breezes along with light to moderate rainfall or thunderstorms.

Certain areas within the Dhaka, Mymensingh, Barisal, and Chattogram divisions might experience comparable conditions as well.

Nevertheless, both daytime and nighttime temperatures are expected to stay relatively stable.

The BMD reported that the temperature in Dhaka and nearby areas might increase by 1°C to 3°C on Thursday.

The rain is forecasted to persist until Friday; however, the general strength might diminish somewhat, according to the department. This assessment is based on current observations of a mild to moderate monsoon over the Bay of Bengal and reduced activity across Bangladesh.

On Friday, mild to moderate rainfall or sudden thunderstorms accompanied by brief strong breezes might take place in various locations across all eight regions: Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal, Chattogram, and Sylhet.

The BMD said light to moderate rain/thunder showers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind is likely at one or two

locations across Chattogram, Mymensingh & Sylhet divisions on the Eid day.

The weather might stay mostly dry across the nation, with occasional partial cloud cover in some areas.

This condition could also persist into the next day.

Individuals might experience unease because of escalating temperatures, with predictions indicating that both day and night-time heat will rise on Saturday.
