In keeping with DCP’s dedication to sustainability and adherence to the nation's clean fuel initiative, we aim to convert our more than 7,000-truck fleet from AGO to CNG by the conclusion of 2026.
We are significantly investing in new CNG trucks along with the required infrastructure to facilitate this shift.
At present, 3,100 trucks are active, and our efforts in utilizing alternate fuels have earned international acclaim; Dangote Cement has been praised for its scores related to climate change and water security as reported by CDP.
The company also revealed the introduction of numerous Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) powered vehicles on Thursday, May 29, 2025. During the 2025 Dangote Cement Customers Awards & Gala Night, 28 of these trucks were awarded to their leading distributors.
To back President Bola Tinubu’s Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNG-i), the organization disclosed in late October that they had allocated over $280 million (N460 billion) towards CNG technology along with additional infrastructural developments.

Aiming to operate most of its fleet using Compressed Natural Gas by mid-2026, this marks a significant transition for Dangote towards cleaner energy sources.
By October, the firm had obtained its initial shipment of 1,500 single-fuel CNG vehicles and anticipates receiving another 1,600 CNG trucks, bringing their total for this year to 3,100.
"By mid-2026, Dangote Cement plans to have a vehicle fleet primarily fueled by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). We are committed to supporting this shift by enhancing our CNG refueling facilities, guaranteeing consistent availability of CNG for our expanding fleet," stated Pathak.
